Bloody Hot Pond
Its name "bloody" is due to its intense red colour that characterises it, this is due to the high concentrations of iron oxide and magnesium oxide that its waters contain. Its name "hot" is due to the fact that this peculiar pond is located in a volcanic well, its temperature can vary from 50潞 to 99潞. Its high temperature and its high concentration of iron oxide make it impossible to bathe in it.
Even so, these hot springs have all the amenities for the tourist, from natural pools, saunas, jacuzzi to restaurants. Beppu is a small coastal town in southern Japan, and is now the country's largest spa town, attracting more than 12 million tourists a year.
The location of the Hot Bloody Pond is spectacular, surrounded by mountains, it is one of the so-called "Beppu Hells", it is a great tourist attraction, both for its visual beauty and for the amenities that tourists can find.
